Accessibility / Accommodations

Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota Wild strive to provide excellent service to all guests. We are pleased to welcome guests of all abilities to our facility. For those guests with specific needs, we offer the following services in accordance with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).

Assisted Listening Devices (ALD)

Headsets and receivers for the ADA approved Telex ALD system are available free of charge at the Guest Services desk near section 104/105 and at the Suite Concierge desk near Gate 5. A driver’s license or state issued ID is required to ensure the return of equipment.

Accessible Seating

Accessible/disabled seating is available on all levels of the arena. Accessible seating and parking are available through Ticketmaster and the Xcel Energy Center Box Office. If you have any questions regarding accessible seating or specifications of a particular location, please contact the Xcel Energy Center Box Office at 651-726-8240.

Guests looking to purchase ADA accesible tickets for Xcel Energy Center events can do so by clicking on your event on Ticketmaster.com then filter for accessible tickets.

ASL Interpreter

To request an ASL interpreter, contact the Xcel Energy Center Box Office at 651-726-8200 a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to the date of the event you are attending. An ASL interpreter will not be provided unless specifically requested.

Hearing/visual impaired seating is reserved up to ten (10) business days prior to the date of the event or until sold out, whichever comes first. Reserved hearing/visual impaired seats are held within an acceptable distance of the stage/performance as required by ADA regulations.

Bariatric Chair

For guests with specific seating needs, we offer a bariatric chair. The chair is 29.5" wide and 21" deep, built with a steel frame and has a weight capacity of 700 lbs. The bariatric chair is available on a first come, first served basis for use on our ADA platforms. Please contact the Xcel Energy Center Guest Services Team to inquire about use and availability.

Closed Captioning

Closed captioning is offered at all Minnesota Wild hockey games. Captioning is displayed on the east and west ends of the arena scoreboard.

Closed captioning is offered for non-Wild Xcel Energy Center events when requested a minimum of ten (10) business days prior to the date of the event you are attending. Captioning may be displayed on either an iPad or a monitor depending on event configuration. Should captioning be available on an iPad, one will be provided for you at the Guest Services desk at section 105. Closed captioning will not be provided unless specifically requested.

Concession Stands and Drinking Fountains

All concession stands and drinking fountains throughout Xcel Energy Center are accessible.

Drop-Off Location

An accessible drop-off area is available and located at the southeast entrance (Gate 1) of Xcel Energy Center at 175 West Kellogg Boulevard. Please note for many events this option is not available for pick up as Kellogg Boulevard is closed for pedestrian traffic.

Event Days Only:

  • Gate 4 of Xcel Energy Center - Located at the northeast corner of the arena on 5th Street between West 7th Street and Washington Street. Gate 4 opens one hour prior to ticketed start time of event. 
  • Rice Park Entrance – 145 West 4th Street. Corner of Washington Avenue and 4th Street (just south of Ordway Center).

Elevators

Elevators are located throughout Xcel Energy Center and access all public areas of the arena. Should you need assistance in reaching your seat, please contact a Guest Services staff member.

Electrical Outlets

Various accessible seating locations are equipped with electrical outlets. To arrange for one of these locations, please contact the Xcel Energy Center Box Office.

Emergency Evacuation

Xcel Energy Center Guest Services team members have been trained in proper procedures for emergency preparedness. These employees will assist patrons with disabilities to defined areas for evacuation.

Hearing/Visual Impaired Seating

Hearing/visual impaired seating for Xcel Energy Center events is available in person at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office or by sending an email to guestservices@wild.com.

Guests are welcome to bring ear plugs and/or noise cancelling ear muffs into Xcel Energy Center. Complimentary ear plugs are offered at the section 105 Guest Services Desk on the main concourse. A limited number of ear muffs are available to be checked out free of charge.

During all concerts, Xcel Energy Center offers Vibes noise cancelling ear plugs which are available at the section 105 Guest Services desk for purchase price of $20 (cash only).

Parking

Convenient accessible parking is available at the RiverCentre Parking Ramp. Guests using the RiverCentre Parking Ramp may access Xcel Energy Center via the skyway, which is connected to Xcel Energy Center. Another convenient option is the Kellogg Parking Ramp. Additional parking spots are available at surrounding ramps.

Restrooms

All restrooms within Xcel Energy Center are accessible. Additionally, we have several single-user restrooms. These are located near sections 107, 121, suite 58, C35 and 225 and are available for disabled guests with opposite gender aides/companions.

Sensory Kits

Xcel Energy Center partners with the Autism Society of Minnesota (AUSM) to provide sensory kits for guests.

Sensory kits are available at Minnesota Wild home games and most Xcel Energy Center events.

Additionally, the Minnesota Wild and AUSM have created a Social Narrative for attending a Wild game.

Service Animals

Trained service animals assisting guests with disabilities are permitted inside Xcel Energy Center. Service animals must remain on a leash or harness at all times and will rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability. Service animals may not use additional seats unless a ticket has been purchased for the adjacent seat. All other animals are prohibited.

The Minnesota Wild and AUSM have created a Social Narrative for attending a Wild game.

Bremer Bank Suite Level

The Bremer Bank Suite Level and all suites are fully wheelchair accessible. If a guest utilizes a wheelchair and is attending an event at Xcel Energy Center, we are able to remove a chair to allow for viewing access on the balcony. Please contact our Suite Services Department in advance at 651-726-8300 to make arrangements.

Wheelchair Escorts

Wheelchair escorts are available for guests who may require additional assistance to and from their seats. A pre-arranged escort will meet a guest at the designated gate and assist the guest to their seat. At the conclusion of the event, an escort will return to the guest’s seat and escort them to the nearest exit. Please note the escort will not remain with the guest during the event, nor will the wheelchair be left with a guest during the event. This service is for transport needs only. Additionally, escorts are available only on Xcel Energy Center property and are not permitted to transport beyond the arena property.

For guests wanting to transfer from their wheelchair, we are able to store your wheelchair at our Guest Services desk. Guest Services staff members are available to assist and return your chair at a pre-arranged time. Please contact Guest Services at 651-726-8200 orguestservices@xcelenergycenter.com to make arrangements before arriving at the arena.
