The Roy Wilkins Exhibition Hall, located in the lower level of The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium, recently underwent a lighted upgrade that will result in an energy reduction of 81%. 300 lights have now been upgraded from 295 watt metal halide bulbs to 50 watt LED bulbs. The changes in the fixtures, as well as the new lights, should save around $20,000 per year in electric costs. Saint Paul RiverCentre also received over $33,000 in rebates from Xcel Energy.
On top of these "green" changes, the space is dramatically brighter and provides a better quality of light.
