Saint Paul RiverCentre Ramp Set to Fully Reopen to the Public

Officials from Saint Paul RiverCentre announced today that the adjacent parking ramp's enhanced safety measures have been completed and the ramp will fully reopen to the public immediately. The City of Saint Paul's Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) conducted final assessments this week and have deemed the ramp structurally sound and safe for use.

"Saint Paul RiverCentre is committed to providing a safe place for our visitors to park while enjoying downtown Saint Paul," said Visit Saint Paul President and CEO Terry Mattson. "We took additional precautions to ensure the ramp would go above any beyond any safety expectations that were outlined for us."

The Saint Paul RiverCentre Parking Ramp has been closed since May when a piece of ceiling concrete fell onto a parked vehicle. No one was injured. DSI conducted several comprehensive assessments of the parking ramp's integrity and safety, and recommended a plan of action identifying additional safety measures. Officials from the City of Saint Paul and Saint Paul RiverCentre Authority Board agreed to fulfill those safety measures, and exceed the recommendations by installing safety nets throughout the entire structure.
