Alcohol Policy and Acceptable Forms of ID

We follow the Minnesota State Law for Acceptable IDs. Proof of age for purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages may be established only by one of the following:

  • A valid driver’s license issued by Minnesota, another state or Canada, including the photograph and date of birth of the person
  • A valid identification card issued by Minnesota, another state or Canada, including the photograph and date of birth of the person
  • A valid military ID issued by the U.S. Dept. of Defense
  • A valid passport issued by the United States
  • Mexican Consulate IDs
  • In the case of a foreign national, a valid passport
  • PLEASE NOTE: We CANNOT accept clipped IDs with papers as a form of valid identification for buying alcohol.

Banners and Signs

Banners and signs are allowed into the facility as long as they are no larger than 2 ½ feet x 2 ½ feet and contain NO sticks, poles or offensive/vulgar language. They may not be hung or fastened anywhere in Xcel Energy Center. Signs must be handheld and displayed at appropriate times without impeding the experience of other guests. This is subject to change at any time based on a specific request from the event or promoter.

Binocular Rental

Xcel Energy Center has a limited supply of binoculars that can be rented on a first come, first served basis. A $20 deposit must be left at the time of rental. Upon return of the binoculars, $15 will be returned, thus making the rental cost $5. All binoculars can be rented at our Guest Services desk located at section 104/105.

Business Center

The Minnesota Wild has partnered with Loffler to provide an on-site business center to assist you with all of your document needs. Services include copying, printing, scanning and finishing. The business center is located directly across from Gate 5 and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.


Camera Policy

The following are general rules of camera use and are subject to change at any time based on a specific request from the event or promoter:

Cameras with a detachable lens or lens of more than two (2) inches are prohibited from all Xcel Energy Center events. The use of flash photography may also be prohibited. The event producer reserves the right to deny camera use at any time before or during the event and to prohibit the use of any camera that is deemed unacceptable.

Video recorders or digital cameras with recording capabilities are prohibited at any time during an event. Xcel Energy Center reserves the right to examine and prohibit use of any camera that staff deem unacceptable. Audio recorders are not allowed at any time. 

Cellular Phones

The use of cellular phones is permitted provided they do not interfere with other guests’ enjoyment of the event.

Charitable Donations

Xcel Energy Center receives many requests for donations and each and every one is given serious consideration. We wish it were possible to honor all of these worthwhile causes, however, some do not fall within our established guidelines listed below:

  • Fails to meet the focus of Xcel Energy Center’s community relations efforts
  • Past due letter (must be received 30 days in advance of the event date)
  • Previously donated (one donation per organization per year)
  • Sponsorship or monetary donation request
  • Out-of-state request
  • Third party request or organizational campaign
  • Individuals or individual pursuits, fraternal, veteran, labor or political group
  • Prizes and incentive programs

Please note Xcel Energy Center is a rental facility and therefore has very limited access to event tickets for charitable requests.

All donation requests must be submitted through the online application. Faxes, emails, phone calls and mailed submissions are no longer accepted. Requests must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the date for which the donation is needed. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we ask you please do not call to check on the status of a previously requested donation.

Minnesota Wild Foundation
The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and to improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey. Thanks to the generosity of our fans and devoted partners, the Minnesota Wild has always had the ability to make positive and lasting contributions to this community. We will continue to touch the lives of countless ill and underprivileged children and their families throughout the State of Hockey and will continue to focus on building and enhancing key community relationships.


We hope you bring your appetite to Xcel Energy Center because we’re serving up all of your game day favorites and so much more. Whether you’re in the mood for piping hot brick oven pizza, sizzling fajitas, or BBQ cooked slow and low, you’re going to find just what you’re looking for at our concessions in the 100 and 200 level concourses. Arena favorites like hot dogs, burgers, chicken tenders and brats are available alongside our specialty offerings, so try a little of everything while you’re here. Xcel Energy Center and Levy Restaurants now offer gluten-free food items. The gluten-free concession stand is located on the 100 level at section 126.

Concession availability may vary based on event.

The Mich Golden Light Fan Zone restaurant, located at section 120 (Gate 4), features bar service and a sports bar menu with 40 flat-screen televisions to catch current sporting action.

Alcohol sales (including beer, spirits and wine) end during the third period of Minnesota Wild games. Beer and alcohol sales during concerts and other events cease no later than one (1) hour from the scheduled end of the event.

Digital Ticketing

Minnesota Wild season tickets are now delivered via digital ticketing. Learn more about digital ticketing here including how to use digital tickets to enter the arena, forward to others and more.


Major highways (Interstate 94 and 35E) run through downtown Saint Paul, making Xcel Energy Center easily accessible from all parts of the state. The arena is located on the corner of Kellogg Boulevard and West 7th Street. Click here for detailed directions.

Elevators / Escalators

Elevators are located throughout Xcel Energy Center. The escalator on the 100 level at section 107 provides access to the RBC Wealth Management Club Level and the 200 level.

Emergency Event Phone Number

The emergency event phone number is 651-726-8200. This number can be used in case of emergency during an event. If you are expecting an emergency phone call, please leave your name and seat location at the Guest Services desk at section 104/105. If a message is received, a Guest Services representative will deliver the message to you at your seat.

Exit and Re-Entry

There is no re-entry to Xcel Energy Center.

First Aid

Regions Hospital First Aid Station is located at section 104/105, next to Guest Services, on the 100 level. Contact any Xcel Energy Center staff member if you need assistance.

Fundraising for Non-Profit Organizations

Levy Restaurants partners with area non-profit organizations to staff concession stands in exchange for donations to their organization. For more information, call 651-726-8183.

Food and Beverages / Bottles and Cans

Guests are not permitted to bring any outside food or beverages into Xcel Energy Center. Containers including bottles, cans, thermos bottles and plastic coolers are not permitted for the safety and protection of our guests.

Beer and alcohol sales during sporting events: With 10 minutes left in the game, all concourse beer and alcohol sales will end. The Mich Golden Light Fan Zone and RBC Wealth Management Club Level bars stay open 20 minutes after the game and Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Club stays open up to one (1) hour after events. The Reserve stays open one (1) hour after Wild games and 30 minutes after non-Wild events.

Beer and alcohol sales during concerts and other events: Sales end one (1) hour from the scheduled end of the event.


Gate Opening Times

Gates open one (1) hour prior to all events. The exception is VIP Gate 5, which opens two (2) hours prior to all Minnesota Wild games, allowing premium seat holders early access to the RBC Wealth Management Club Level restaurant and the Bremer Bank Suite Level. There may be occasional gate opening time changes for special circumstances.

Guest Conduct

Xcel Energy Center is committed to providing a fun, family atmosphere. Guests using foul language or appearing to be intoxicated will be ejected from the arena. Guests wearing obscene or indecent clothing will be denied entry. Spandex unitards with closed face masks are not permitted in Xcel Energy Center. Masks are also not permitted in Xcel Energy Center (masks are defined as forms of disguise or concealment worn over or in front of the face to hide the identity of the person). For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, noisemakers of any type (air horns, cow bells, etc.) are prohibited. The use of laser pointers is strictly prohibited and will result in ejection. If someone is interfering with your enjoyment of the event, please contact an Xcel Energy Center staff member.

Guest Services

There are three (3) Guest Services locations in Xcel Energy Center. They are located on the 100 level at section 104/105, the RBC Wealth Management Club Level at section C9, and at section 206 of the 200 level. They are staffed with knowledgeable Guest Services representatives who will assist you with your questions and concerns. Hockey Lodge

The Hockey Lodge team store is located in the main lobby of Xcel Energy Center. As the official team store, the Hockey Lodge offers fans the widest variety of team merchandise for not only the Minnesota Wild, but also the North Stars, Fighting Saints and other special event merchandise. Hockey Lodge stores and kiosks are open during games and are located just inside Gate 2 and section 119 on the main level, on the 200 level at sections 205 and 215, and on the RBC Wealth Management Club Level behind sections C9-10. Hockey Lodge locations also include Southdale Center and Maplewood Mall.

Baby changing stations are located in all public restrooms. In addition, family restrooms are available on all levels of the arena.

Booster Seats
Xcel Energy Center has a limited supply of booster seats available for use during events. They are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Guests can pick them up at the Guest Services desk near section 105 on the 100 level.

Xcel Energy Center has a limited supply of ear muffs for children available for use during events. They are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Guests can pick them up at the Guest Services desk near section 105 on the 100 level.

Family Restrooms
Family restrooms are located on each level of the arena and can be utilized by families and guests requiring the assistance of a caregiver. They are located at or near the sections below:
100 level – 106/107 and 122/123
Suite level – by suite 58
Club level – C35 and C36
200 level – 225

Lost Children
Guests are encouraged to instruct children in their group what to do if they get lost. If a child is lost or separated from his or her group, the child should ask the nearest Xcel Energy Center staff member for help. A lost child will be taken to the Guest Services desk near section 105 on the 100 level. Parents looking for a child should follow the same procedure. Children who retain their ticket stub are much easier to locate and bring back to their seats and parents.

Parents Room
A Parents Room is available for select events at Xcel Energy Center. The Parents Room provides parents or chaperones of event patrons (who do not want to purchase a ticket) a complimentary place to relax throughout the event. Please contact Guest Services at 651-726-8200 for availability.

For some children's shows, Xcel Energy Center offers a staffed, stroller check-in area at Gate 1. When you arrive at the area, you will receive a ticket with a specific number and the stroller will be tagged with a band with the same number. At the end of the event, you can pick up your stroller by showing your numbered ticket to the attendant.

For other events, we allow guests to leave their strollers at any Guest Services desk. However, there may be times when the stroller is left unattended, so we encourage guests to bring a collapsible stroller that can fit under your seat. For more information on strollers, please call the Guest Services line at 651-726-8200.

Tag-a-Kid Program
In the event a child and parent become separated, Xcel Energy Center is proud to offer the Tag-a-Kid Program. This is a free, in-house service in which a colorful wristband is placed on a young visitor that notes their parents' seat location. The Tag-a-Kid Program helps lost children and parents reunite easily by registering the parents' contact information and noting the child’s seat location on the wristband. For additional information or to register, visit any of the Guest Services desks located at sections 105, C9 and 207, as well as the Suite Concierge desk.

Ticketing of Children  
For most events, children younger than two (2) years of age do not require a ticket if held on the lap of an accompanying adult. Fold-up strollers should be stored under your seat while non-folding strollers should be checked at the Guest Services desk near section 105 on the 100 level.

Wild Kids Club
For a small fee, kids can join the Minnesota Wild Kids Club. Membership includes a packet of Wild goodies, discount card for the Hockey Lodge, member ID card, Wild Kids Club Newsletter and invitations for special events. For more information, please call 651-602-6000 or email [email protected].


Lost and Found

During an event, lost and found service is located at Guest Services at section 104/105 on the 100 level. Found items will be stored for 30 days. To learn if an item has been recovered, please call 651-265-4817 during regular business hours. Xcel Energy Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Xcel Energy Center has merchandise locations throughout the arena to satisfy your souvenir needs. Minnesota Wild official merchandise can be purchased throughout the arena during games and at Hockey Lodge store locations year-round.

Levy Restaurants coordinates special event and concert merchandise for Xcel Energy Center. Questions on concert and event merchandise can be directed to Xcel Energy Center’s Levy Restaurants office at 651-726-8130.

Metal Detectors

Xcel Energy Center has implemented the use of walk-through metal detectors (WTMD) for all Minnesota Wild games. As part of a League-wide effort, WTMDs have been added at all entrances to provide fans with a smoother, faster screening process.

All Wild fans will be required to pass through walk-through metal detectors upon entry to Wild games at Xcel Energy Center. Guests will not be asked to remove jackets, shoes, belts, keys, watches or coins, but cell phones and cameras must be set in designated bins before passing through the metal detectors. To expedite the screening process, fans are encouraged to leave non-essential items at home or in their vehicles. Click here for more information.


Nursing Mothers Room

Xcel Energy Center offers a nursing mothers room which is located on the Bremer Bank Suite Level. The secure and sanitary room features a sink for cleaning equipment, baby changing table, easily accessible electrical outlets, soft lighting, relaxing décor and comfortable seating.

To access to the room, take the stairs or elevator to the Bremer Bank Suite Level. Upon arrival to the level, the Suite Concierge staff will provide you direction and access to the room. Please note you do not need a suite ticket to access the nursing mothers room.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited and may NOT be brought into Xcel Energy Center:

  • Cans, bottles, coolers or similar containers
  • Food or beverage
  • Air horns, noise makers, balloons, beach balls or wrapped gifts
  • Oversized bags or backpacks
  • Pets (other than service animals)
  • Laser pointers
  • Recording devices (video or audio)
  • Hockey or Lacrosse sticks or poles
  • Weapons of any kind: including guns, knives, pepper spray, mace, chains, spikes, etc.
  • Selfie sticks of any kind
  • Inflatable items
  • Masks (masks are defined as forms of disguise or concealment worn over or in front of the face to hide the identity of the person)

All guests are subject to be searched upon entering the arena. Purses, diaper bags and other small bags are allowed, but will be inspected.


Radio Broadcast – Minnesota Wild Games

Listen to Bob Kurtz and former Minnesota North Star Tom Reid for every game across the Minnesota Wild Radio Network. KFAN is the official flagship station of the Minnesota Wild. All Minnesota Wild games can be heard on KFAN FM 100.3 and the Minnesota Wild Radio Network. In-arena broadcast can be heard on 95.7 FM.


Since 2009, Xcel Energy Center and adjacent Saint Paul RiverCentre and The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium have been working to become leaders in sustainability in the events industry. Their first step towards that mission was to implement a comprehensive waste-reduction and recycling program that collects over a dozen types of recyclable material from across the complex. Xcel Energy Center was one of the first major-league sports facilities to offer composting in public areas. Today, these facilities recycle or compost over 60% of all waste from the building. Resale of Arena Tickets

To protect your investment, it is recommended you purchase tickets only through authorized outlets including the Xcel Energy Center Box Office and Ticketmaster (800-745-3000 or ticketmaster.com). Tickets purchased through other channels may be lost, stolen or counterfeit. Xcel Energy Center does not assume any responsibility for replacement or reimbursement of any such tickets.

The Reserve

The Reserve, a new, upscale lounge on the Bremer Bank Suite Level, features an eclectic, chef-driven menu and an array of cocktail options, and will be open for Minnesota Wild home games, concerts and special events to guests with suite level tickets or reservations. To make a reservation, call 651-726-8400 Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.


Xcel Energy Center features a wide variety of restaurants including Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Club, The Reserve and the Mich Golden Light Fan Zone.

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Club is located on the RBC Wealth Management Club Level and accepts reservations for all Minnesota Wild games and most Xcel Energy Center events. To make a reservation, please call 651-726-8400.

The Reserve is located on the Bremer Bank Suite Level and is accessible to guests with suite level tickets or reservations for the event they are attending.

The Mich Golden Light Fan Zone is located on the 100 level near Gate 4 and is open to all Xcel Energy Center guests.

In the interest of guest safety and enjoyment, Xcel Energy Center reserves the right to prevent certain items from being carried into the arena. These include, but are not limited to, weapons or anything else that can be used as dangerous projectiles. Similarly, other items that may jeopardize the safety or viewing/listening enjoyment of guests may be prohibited. Xcel Energy Center bans guns on the premises.

Ride Share Services

Gate 4 at the northeast corner of Xcel Energy Center on 5th Street is the official Pick-Up and Drop-off location for Minnesota Wild games and Xcel Energy Center events.  Gate 4 is near section 120 and the Mich Golden Light Fan Zone.  Uber is the Official Ride Share of the Minnesota Wild.



For your safety and convenience, security personnel are stationed throughout the arena. If you have an emergency, please notify the nearest Xcel Energy Center staff member immediately.


Xcel Energy Center is a smoke-free arena. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, anywhere in the building is strictly prohibited. Designated smoking areas are located outside the arena at Gate 3. Guests outside the arena must be at least 25 feet away from any entrance to smoke.

A taxi stand is located on Kellogg Boulevard on the south side of the arena.


A courtesy telephone is located at the Guest Services desk inside Xcel Energy Center. TDD/TTY phones are located at Gate 1 near the Xcel Energy Center Box Office and near the Saint Paul RiverCentre Box Office.

AT&T cell phone charging stations are available for use at section 113/114 on the 100 level and on the club level near the Guest Service desk. There are three (3) different types of chargers available at the stations.

Tours of Xcel Energy Center allow guests to take a 'behind the scenes' look at a premier sports and entertainment facility. Venue tours showcase the many unique features of Xcel Energy Center including State of Hockey exhibits and musical tributes, the Al Shaver Press Box, premium seating areas, the event level and more. Tours run approximately one hour as guests are guided through each of the six levels of the facility. Tours do not include access to the Minnesota Wild locker room.

Wheelchair Escorts

Wheelchair escorts are available for guests who may require additional assistance to and from their seats. A pre-arranged escort will meet a guest at the designated gate and assist the guest to his/her seat. At the conclusion of the event, an escort will return to the guest’s seat and escort him/her to the nearest exit. Please note the escort will not remain with the guest during the event, nor will the wheelchair be left with a guest during the event. This service is for transport needs only. Additionally, escorts are available only on Xcel Energy Center property and are not permitted to transport beyond the arena property.

Xcel Energy Center has free, venue-wide Wi-Fi available for all events. Inside the venue, there are more than 350 Wi-Fi access points covering the seating area, concession stands and concourses on all levels. Guests can easily connect to the Wi-Fi network by selecting 'XECWifi' from among the connection options appearing on their device.

Xcel Energy Warming House

The Xcel Energy Warming House is an inviting new exhibit located at section 124 and offers a great way for fans to support the Salvation Army’s Heat Share program. The program provides funds to people across the State of Hockey who need assistance paying their heating bills during the long winters. When fans make a donation, they will create their own personalized commemorative puck right on site.
