Alcohol Policy and Acceptable Forms of ID

We follow the Minnesota State Law for Acceptable IDs. Proof of age for purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages may be established only by one of the following:

  • A valid driver’s license issued by Minnesota, another state or Canada and including the photograph and date of birth of the person
  • A valid identification card issued by Minnesota, another state or Canada and including the photograph and date of birth of the person
  • A valid military ID issued by the U.S. Dept. of Defense
  • A valid passport issued by the United States
  • Mexican Consulate IDs
  • In the case of a foreign national, a valid passport
  • PLEASE NOTE: We CANNOT accept clipped IDs with papers as a form of valid identification for buying alcohol. 

ATM Locations

There are four (4) Wells Fargo ATMs for your convenience located throughout Xcel Energy Center. Locations include:

  • Section 102 / Gate 1 lobby near the Xcel Energy Center Box Office (Wells Fargo)
  • Section 114 / Gate 3 (Wells Fargo)
  • Section 119 / Gate 4 near the Bud Light Fan Zone (Wells Fargo)
  • Section 201 (Wells Fargo) 

AT&T Wi-Fi

Xcel Energy Center is the first NHL venue to offer AT&T Wi-Fi. Inside the venue, there are 274 Wi-Fi access points covering seats, concession stands and concourse areas. Fans can easily connect to the AT&T Wi-Fi network, and visitors with an AT&T smartphone or device can automatically connect without any log in required.

Baby Changing Areas

Baby changing stations are located in all public restrooms. In addition, family restrooms are available on all levels of the arena.

Banners and Signs

Banners and signs are allowed into the facility as long as they are no larger than 2 ½ feet x 2 ½ feet and contain NO sticks, poles or offensive/vulgar language. They may not be hung or fastened anywhere in Xcel Energy Center. Signs must be handheld and displayed at appropriate times without impeding the experience of other guests. This is subject to change at any time based on a specific request from the event or promoter.

Bike Rack

Binocular Rental

Xcel Energy Center has a limited supply of binoculars that can be rented on a first come – first served basis. A $20 deposit must be left at the time of rental. Upon return of the binoculars, $15 will be returned, thus making the rental cost $5. All binoculars can be rented at our Guest Services desk located at section 104/105.

Business Center

The Minnesota Wild has partnered with Loffler to provide an on-site business center to assist you with all of your document needs. Services include copying, printing, scanning and finishing. The business center is located directly across from Gate 5 and is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Camera Policy

The following are general rules of camera use and are subject to change at any time based on a specific request from the event or promoter:

Cameras with a detachable lens or lens of more than two (2) inches are prohibited from all Xcel Energy Center concerts. The use of flash photography may also be prohibited. The event producer reserves the right to deny camera use at any time before or during the event and to prohibit the use of any camera that is deemed unacceptable.

Video recorders or digital cameras with recording capabilities are prohibited at any time during an event. Xcel Energy Center reserves the right to examine and prohibit use of any camera that staff deem unacceptable. Audio recorders are not allowed at any time. 

Cellular Phones

The use of cellular phones is permitted provided they do not interfere with other guests’ enjoyment of the event.

Charitable Donations

Xcel Energy Center receives many requests for donations and each and every one is given serious consideration. We wish it were possible to honor all of these worthwhile causes, however some do not fall within our established guidelines listed below:

  • Fails to meet the focus of Xcel Energy Center’s community relations efforts
  • Past due letter (must be received 30 days in advance of the event date)
  • Previously donated (one donation per organization per year)
  • Sponsorship or monetary donation request
  • Out-of-state request
  • 3rd party request or organizational campaign
  • Individuals or individual pursuits, fraternal, veteran, labor or political group
  • Prizes and incentive programs

Please note Xcel Energy Center is a rental facility and therefore has very limited access to event tickets for charitable requests.

All donation requests must be submitted through the online application. Faxes, emails, phone calls and mailed submissions will no longer be accepted. Requests must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the date for which the donation is needed. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we ask that you please do not call to check on the status of a previously requested donation.

Children

For most events children younger than two (2) years of age do not require a ticket if held on the lap of an accompanying adult. Fold-up strollers should be stored under your seat while non-folding strollers should be checked at Guest Services, located near sections 104/105, on the 100 level.

During all Minnesota Wild home games, fans may visit the Community Relations Booth behind section 124 for more information on community programs or call 651-602-6000.

Minnesota Wild Foundation

The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and to improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey. Thanks to the generosity of our fans and devoted partners, the Minnesota Wild has always had the ability to make positive and lasting contributions to this community. We will continue to touch the lives of countless ill and underprivileged children and their families throughout “The State of Hockey” and continue to focus on building and enhancing key community relationships.

Concessions

Xcel Energy Center features numerous concession stands and portable stands operated throughout the arena, which are supplied by Levy Restaurants. Levy Restaurants can be reached at 651-726-8130. A wide selection of food is available ranging from our own specially created “Loon” sausage stuffed with wild rice and cheddar, carved sandwiches, wraps, salads, cheese steak sandwiches, jumbo stuffed potatoes, brick oven pizza, walleye baskets, boneless buffalo chicken wings and specialty BBQ, but there are also arena favorites – popcorn, hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers, personal pan pizzas, and chicken tenders. The Bud Light Fan Zone restaurant, located at section 120 (Gate 4), features bar service and a newly revised sports bar menu with 40 flat screen televisions to catch the most current sporting action.

Xcel Energy Center and Levy Restaurants now offer Gluten Free food items. The gluten free concession stand is located on the 100 level at section 126.

Alcohol sales (including beer, spirits and wine) end during the third period of Minnesota Wild games. Beer and alcohol sales during concerts and other events cease no later than one (1) hour from the scheduled end of the event.

Digital Ticketing

Directions

Major highways (Interstate 94 and 35E) run through downtown Saint Paul, making Xcel Energy Center easily accessible from all parts of the state. The arena is located on the corner of Kellogg Boulevard and West Seventh Street. Detailed directions

Elevators / Escalators

Elevators are located throughout Xcel Energy Center. The escalator on the 100 level at section 107 provides access to the RBC Wealth Management Club Level and the 200 level.

Emergency Event Phone Number

The emergency event phone number is 651-726-8200. This number can be used in case of emergency during an event. If you are expecting an emergency phone call, please leave your name and seat location at Guest Services at section 104/105. If a message is received, a guest services representative will deliver the message to you at your seat.

Exit and Re-Entry

There is no re-entry to Xcel Energy Center.

First Aid

Regions Hospital First Aid Station is located at section 104/105, next to Guest Services, on the 100 level. Contact any Xcel Energy Center staff member if you need assistance.
 

Fundraising for Non-Profit Organizations

Levy Restaurants partners with area non-profit organizations to staff concession stands in exchange for donations to their organization. For more information, call 651-726-8124.

Food and Beverages / Bottles and Cans

Guests are not permitted to bring any outside food or beverages into Xcel Energy Center. Containers including bottles, cans, thermos bottles and plastic coolers are not permitted for the safety and protection of our guests.

Beer and alcohol sale during sporting events: With 10 minutes left in the game all concourse beer and alcohol sales will end. The Bud Light Fan Zone and RBC Wealth Management Club Level bars stay open 20 minutes after the game and Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Club stays open up to one (1) hour after events.

Beer and alcohol sale during concerts and other events: Sales end one (1) hour from the scheduled end of the event.

Gate Opening Times

Gates open one (1) hour prior to all events. The exception is VIP Gate 5, which opens two (2) hours prior to all Minnesota Wild games, allowing premium seat holders early access to the RBC Wealth Management Club Level restaurant and the Bremer Bank Suite Level. There may be occasional gate opening time changes for special circumstances.

Guest Conduct

Xcel Energy Center is committed to providing a fun, family atmosphere. Guests using foul language or appearing to be intoxicated will be ejected from the arena. Guests wearing obscene or indecent clothing will be denied entry. Spandex unitards with closed face masks are not permitted in Xcel Energy Center. Masks are also not permitted in Xcel Energy Center (masks are defined as forms of disguise or concealment worn over or in front of the face to hide the identity of the person). For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, noisemakers of any type (e.g., air horns, cow bells, etc.) are prohibited. The use of laser pointers is strictly prohibited and will result in ejection. If someone is interfering with your enjoyment of the event, please contact an Xcel Energy Center staff member.

Guest Services

There are three (3) Guest Services locations in Xcel Energy Center. They are located on the 100 level at section 104/105, the RBC Wealth Management Club Level at section C9, and at section 206 of the 200 level. They are staffed with knowledgeable guest services representatives who will assist you with your questions and concerns. The Guest Services phone number is 651-726-8200.

Hockey Lodge

The Hockey Lodge team store is located in the main lobby of Xcel Energy Center. As the official team store, the Hockey Lodge offers fans the widest variety of team merchandise for not only the Minnesota Wild, but also North Stars, Fighting Saints and other special event merchandise. Hockey Lodge stores and kiosks are open during games and are located just inside Gate 2 and section 119 on the main level, on the 200 level at Section 205 and 215, on the RBC Wealth Management Club Level behind sections C9-10. Hockey Lodge locations also include Southdale Center and Maplewood Mall.

Lost and Found

During an event, lost and found service is located at Guest Services at section 104/105 on the 100 level. Found items will be stored for 30 days. To learn if an item has been recovered, please call 651-265-4817 during regular business hours. Xcel Energy Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Lost Children

Guests are encouraged to instruct children in their group what to do if they get lost. If a child is lost or separated from his or her group, the child should ask the nearest Xcel Energy Center staff member for help. A lost child will be taken to Guest Services at Section 104/105. Parents looking for a child should follow the same procedure. Children who retain their ticket stub are much easier to locate and bring back to their seats and parents.

Merchandise/Souvenirs

Xcel Energy Center has merchandise locations throughout the arena to satisfy your souvenir needs. Minnesota Wild and Swarm official merchandise can be purchased throughout the arena during games and at Hockey Lodge store locations year-round.

Levy Restaurants coordinates special event and concert merchandise for Xcel Energy Center. Questions on concert and event merchandise can be directed to Xcel Energy Center’s Levy Restaurants office at 651-726-8130.

Parent Room

A parent room is available for select events at Xcel Energy Center. The parent room provides parents or chaperones of guests (who do not want to purchase a ticket) a complimentary place to relax throughout the event. Please contact Guest Services at 651-726-8200 for availability.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited and may NOT be brought into Xcel Energy Center:

  • Cans, bottles, coolers or similar containers
  • Food or beverage
  • Air horns, noise makers, balloons, beach balls or wrapped gifts
  • Oversized bags or backpacks
  • Pets (other than service animals)
  • Laser pointers
  • Recording devices (video & audio)
  • Weapons of any kind; including guns, knives, pepper spray/mace, chains, spikes, etc.

All guests are subject to be searched upon entering the arena. Purses, diaper bags and other small bags are allowed, but will be inspected.

Radio Broadcast – Minnesota Wild Games

Listen to Bob Kurtz while former Minnesota North Star Tom Reid serves as the color analyst for each and every game across the Minnesota Wild Radio Network. KFAN is the official flagship station of the Minnesota Wild. All Minnesota Wild games can be heard on KFAN FM 100.3 and the Minnesota Wild Radio Network. In-arena broadcast can be heard on 95.7 FM

Recycling

In September of 2009, Xcel Energy Center, along with the adjacent Saint Paul RiverCentre and The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium, began implementing our “50-50 in 2” waste-reduction plan, the first of a multi-phased approach that will encompass several initiatives over the coming years with a key element being recycling. Regions Hospital Walking Program

The Regions Hospital Walking Program is available at Xcel Energy Center October through April. Walkers are welcome to walk the concourse Tuesday through Thursday on non-event days from 11 AM – 2 PM. Questions, please call 651-726-8200. November 2014

Resale of Arena Tickets

To protect your investment it is recommended that you purchase tickets only through authorized outlets including the Xcel Energy Center Box Office, Ticketmaster (800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster outlets). Tickets purchased through other channels may be lost, stolen or counterfeit. Xcel Energy Center does not assume any responsibility for replacement or reimbursement of any such tickets. 

Restaurants

Xcel Energy Center features a wide variety of restaurants including Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Club and the Bud Light Fan Zone. Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Club is located on the RBC Wealth Management Club Level and accepts reservations for all Wild games and most Xcel Energy Center events. To make a reservation, please call 651-726-8400. The Bud Light Fan Zone is located on the 100 level near Gate 4 and is open to all Xcel Energy Center guests.

Restrictions

In the interest of guest safety and enjoyment, Xcel Energy Center reserves the right to prevent certain items from being carried into the arena. These include, but are not limited to, weapons or anything else that can be used as dangerous projectiles. Similarly, other items that may jeopardize the safety or viewing/listening enjoyment of the guests may be prohibited. Xcel Energy Center bans guns on the premises.

Security

For your safety and convenience, security personnel are stationed throughout the arena. If you have an emergency, please notify the nearest Xcel Energy Center staff member immediately.

Smoking

Xcel Energy Center is a smoke-free arena. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, anywhere in the building is strictly prohibited. Designated smoking areas are located outside the arena at Gate 3. Guests outside the arena must be at least 25 feet away from any entrance to smoke.

Tag-a-Kid Program

In the event a child and parent become separated, Xcel Energy Center is proud to offer the Tag-a-Kid Program. This is a free in-house service in which a colorful wristband is placed on a young visitor that notes their parents’ seat location. The Tag-a-Kid Program helps lost children and parents reunite easily by registering the parents’ contact information and noting the child’s seat location on the wristband. For additional information or to register, visit any of the Guest Services desks located at 105, C9 and 207, as well as the Suite Concierge desk.

Telephones

A courtesy telephone is located at the Guest Services desk inside Xcel Energy Center. TDD/TTY phones are located at Gate 1 near the Xcel Energy Center Box Office as well as near the Saint Paul RiverCentre Box Office.

AT&T cell phone charging stations are available for use at sections 113/114 on the main level and on the club level near the Guest Service desk. There are 3 different types of chargers available at the stations.

Tours

Tours of Xcel Energy Center are typically scheduled on non-event weekdays. Reservations are required. Tours begin at Gate 1 of Xcel Energy Center. Plan approximately one hour, as guests are guided through each of the six levels of the facility.

Wild Kids Club

For a small fee, kids can join the Minnesota Wild Kids Club. Membership includes a packet of Wild goodies, discount card for the Hockey Lodge, member ID card, Wild Kids Club Newsletter and invitations for special events. Wheelchair Escorts

Wheelchair escorts are available for guests who require additional assistance to and from their seats. Our escort will meet the guest at the gate and assist them to his/her seat and will meet the guest at the end of the event to escort him/her to the nearest exit. Please be aware that our staff will not remain with you during the event, nor are they able to leave the wheelchair for the duration of the event. Escorts are available only to the edge of Xcel Energy Center property and are not permitted to transport any further. To arrange a wheelchair escort, call 651-726-8200.

Xcel Energy Puck Wall

Fans can give their own name a permanent place at Xcel Energy Center, honor family members and friends, or celebrate a special event or memory in a unique and lasting way. Pucks will become a permanent part of the Xcel Energy Puck Wall, located by section 124.

Replica pucks, reprising your message, are sure to become treasured keepsakes. Replica pucks are identical to the puck that is placed on the wall except the replica puck has the Wild logo in the center. Personalized pucks make a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime gift.
