Travel by Car

Xcel Energy Center is nestled between two major freeways (Interstate 94 and 35E) making it easily accessible from all points of the compass. The arena is located on the corner of W. Kellogg Boulevard and W. 7th Street in the heart of downtown Saint Paul.

From the North:
Take I-35E south and exit on Wacouta, follow seven blocks to Kellogg Boulevard and turn right.

From the South:
Take I-35 north to the Grand Avenue exit. Turn right and follow Grand Avenue to W. 7th Street. Take a left on W. 7th Street.

From the East:
Take I-94 west and exit on 6th Street. Turn left on Kellogg Boulevard.

From the West:
Take I-94 east and exit on 5th Street. Xcel Energy Center is two stop lights from the exit ramp, straight ahead, at the corner of 5th Street and W. 7th Street.

From the Airport:
Take the airport access road and follow signs for Hwy. 5 to Saint Paul. Travel on Hwy. 5 to Saint Paul (approximately 8 miles) to 35E north. Take 35E north to the Kellogg Boulevard exit and turn right.

Traveling Tips

• If you are traveling North on 35E, take the Shepard Road, Grand Avenue, 7th Street or 11th Street/Capitol exits
• If you are traveling South on 35E, take the 10th Street, Wacouta Street or University Avenue/Capitol exits
• If you are traveling East on 94, take the 5th, 10th or 7th Street exits
• If you are traveling West on 94, take the Kellogg Boulevard/Mounds Boulevard or Hwy. 52/6th Street exits
• Ramps closest to Xcel Energy Center tend to fill up quickly and are heavily utilized by downtown workers, so plan to arrive early and consider parking within a brief walk of the arena.

Driving the length of Kellogg Boulevard on an event day should be avoided if possible. Visitors are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible.

Travel by Bus

Xcel Energy Center is easy to access from several Metro Transit Bus Lines servicing the downtown Saint Paul area.  Metro Transit offers an online Trip Planner that allows travelers to create a custom personal schedule to travel by bus to Xcel Energy Center.

Skyways

Many of Saint Paul's city blocks are conveniently connected on the second floors by five miles of an award-winning skyway system. The skyway is an above ground, climate-controlled walkway that connects the buildings in downtown Saint Paul. Skyway maps are located throughout the system and each walkway is color-coded to make navigating easy.
