Xcel Energy Center and JAM Productions have announced that R.E.M. with special guests Modest Mouse and The National is coming to the Theater at Xcel Energy Center on Thursday, June 5 at 7 PM.
It’s been almost four years since R.E.M.’s last studio record and full-scale world tour. Proving that good things come to those who wait, the band released their first full-on rock album in ages to massive acclaim and will tour North America this summer with an amazing package, featuring special guests Modest Mouse and uber-buzz band opener The National.
The first single from R.E.M.’s latest release Accelerate “Supernatural Superserious” is an out-of-the-box nationwide smash at radio, aptly setting the table for the next chapter in the legendary band’s ongoing evolution. The new album is being described as a fine return to the classic R.E.M. sound, and one that, while thoroughly contemporary, clearly restates the core of what made them so great to begin with. And did we mention it rocks? Indeed it does.
Don’t miss out on what is sure to be one of the concert events of the season, as R.E.M. return to St. Paul for the first time since the “Vote For Change Tour” on Oct. 5, 2004. This will be the third time they’ve rocked Xcel Energy Center. Their first visit was Sept. 16, 2003.
