World’s Toughest Rodeo
World’s Toughest Rodeo™ stampedes into Saint Paul for two thrilling shows Friday-Saturday, January 31 - February 1, 2014 at Xcel Energy Center starting at 7:30 p.m. each night. “Like" World’s Toughest Rodeo on Facebook for special seating and discounts.
The popular “Party on the Dirt,” featuring rising country star Jon Pardi, will take place following Saturday night’s rodeo action. Pardi’s debut collection, “Write You A Song,” was released on January 14, 2014, and includes his current hit single “Up All Night.” K102 contest winners get access to the dirt dance, but all rodeo fans are welcome to stay and enjoy the live entertainment.
World’s Toughest Rodeo features champion cowboys from around the United States competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding or bull riding, while the ladies will be vying for the championship title in barrel racing. The top two in each event will return for a second time to go head-to-head to determine the night’s champion. Before the rodeo each night, fans are invited to come early to meet some of the competing cowboys and the rodeo clown. Fans will also have an opportunity to get autographs and photos with these real life cowboys. The first 500 children (12 and under) Friday night will receive a free cowboy hat. The 2014 World's Toughest Rodeo will feature some fan favorites as well. Anthony Lucia, a nationally known trick and fancy roper turned rodeo announcer, will call the exciting action during the two day event.
When World’s Toughest Rodeo surveys its fans, the number one most requested cowboy is none other than Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey. So back by popular demand for the 2014 season, World’s Toughest Rodeo will feature the wild and western cowboy primate atop his Border Collie mount “Ben” as they round up wild Barbados sheep. Whiplash earns his name every time his trusty mount darts to head off the wild mutton! Whiplash has entertained crowds at rodeos, ball games and special events all across North America and Europe. In 2004, he starred in a series of television advertisements for the fast food chain Taco John's. He has also appeared on ESPN, Good Morning America and the TODAY Show.
